My second edit is when I started to edit the footage I had got properly. I added the song into this clips and used other tools to cut down clips and separate some clips so that I could add different footage in between long clips that would have been too long to have originally.
In order to add the music I did it in the same way that I added my clips to this project: File > Import > Media...
I then selected the music that I wanted to add and then it showed up with the rest of my clips. I highlighted the music I wanted and then dragged it onto my project. Having the music on the clips before editing made this process a lot easier for me as I managed to get everything in order and in time with the song.
In order to cut down clips or separate parts of clips, I used the blade tool which cuts a clip at the point it is selected so that you can use a section of a clip in particular. I used this tool quite frequently so that some clips didn't seem too long and boring.
Also, some of my original clips were really dark and so to fix this I used the colour adjustment and correction tools. This was a way of changing the colour, saturation and the exposure of my clips in order to make them brighter. However, this did reduce the quality of some clips and so the plan is when I go back out to film other parts of my music video, I will attempt to re - film these parts in a better light.
After editing and getting everything in place I added in some black screens in order to highlight places where I need to add new footage once I have filmed for a second time. This is so that the footage I already had could be placed where I needed them to be without having to keep some shots really long in order to have the timings of the lyrics correct.
I can also use this as a planning device to see what I now need and how/when I'm going to get it.
