Before creating my second rough edit for my film I decided to re-shoot most of the footage I had filmed previously. This is because some of the imagery was too dark and so in my second draft there is a lot of new footage. Also, due to complications with work and other commitments, my first choice in casting had to change too. The female in the first draft become too much of a reliability and so in order to meet deadlines I had to make to decision to change.

The first step in creating my second rough draft was to create a new project in order to add the new footage. I named this Rough Edit 2 so that I wouldn't get confused as to which edit I needed to be improving on.
Once the project had been created this allowed me to import the media I had gathered through filming off my SD card and memory stick.
I used File > Import > Media... to import the files from my memory stick and SD card onto Final Cut Pro in order to begin the editing process. I selected all of the files that were available so that I would not miss any clips and imported those selected files. They then appeared in my project dashboard.
I then selected all of the files that I had imported and dragged them into a timeline so that I could edit them. This is where I added the music track and placed the clips in the order I wanted them in.
I used tools such as the blade, trim and select tool to crop the clips down to the size I needed them at. I also still have a black background in place where I still need to have clips added.
